I have worked in various equine industries though out my life. This has led me to take a deeper interest in the biomechanics and the muscular system of our equine friends. In addition to my massage Therapy I use Phototherapy and Ultrasound. These Skills and techniques enable me to treat a wide range of ailments including muscle spasms, splints, tendons, ligaments, arthritis and much more. By being able to read the horse’s body language on the ground we are able to identify how the horse is feeling, ie, happy, relaxed, stressed or anxious? Do their muscles look tight or ridged. We can also diagnose through the feel, whilst riding does your horse feel stiff in his movements? Are they better on one rein than the other? Maybe just not performing as well as he/she has done or as usual? If you would like more information or to make an appointment, please email me or call. facebook.com/amfequinemassage

I have always been around animals and as a child I often helped take care of cattle, sheep, chickens, goats, horse, game etc. I studied Zoology and Physiology at Uni in SA. After graduating I worked as a receptionist at a local Vets. This inspired me to look in to animal rehab. My husband and I moved to Mauritius where we worked at PAWS, an international animal welfare organization. During this time I completed my Diploma in animal physiotherapy. In 2015 we moved back to SA and bought our own vet practice. I absolutely love animals. We are constantly working with animal rescue, adoption and welfare organizations and have also rescued quite a few animals ourselves - dogs, cats, birds, horses, goats, snakes and a few other exotic ones! I have spent every day of my life with animals, and I intend to dedicate my future to the safety and welfare of animals coming into our care.

Starting my career in complementary therapies in 1991, initially in reflexology, I soon came to realise that no one therapy does all and furthered my studies with healing, scar tissue work and massage. Having an interest in the connections between the mind, emotions and body, I attained my degree in psychology to further my understanding. In 2014 I began training of the Emmett Technique, a light touch therapy to aid release of muscle tension and restriction, which has been a valuable addition in my practice. After qualifying the opportunity arose to train in Emmett for Dogs and on completion of this course I began volunteering in rehoming centres. I have gained experience with a range of dogs, working to alleviate physical and emotional imbalances they may have in a non- invasive way. I also offer this therapy to dogs in their homes. Since becoming an Instructor in the technique my long- term goal is to introduce this therapy to more rehoming centres.

I accept each new challenge with relish and have met some fabulous people and creatures along the way. Having gained extensive experience working with Stallions, Mares and Youngstock I decided that the move into rehabilitation would be a great opportunity to help owners and their precious four legged friends. Edyta Jakubowska

Edyta Jakubowska

Equine Massage Sports Therapist. Fully insured. My motivation to train as an equine therapist (at the beginning) was to help my own horse - highly emotional and excitable Arabian gelding. It just seemed that "general" methods were not helping him and he needed a truly individual approach. Getting deeper into equine therapy training improved my understanding, communication and knowledge of how to provide the best care for him. Over a year ago, this passion became profession. During my work with horses, I use different massage techniques such as sport massage, remedial massage, specific light touch techniques related to trigger points, to encourage the horse to relax and release tension. If needed I combine massage techniques with biomedical methods such as magnetotherapy (PMF - pulsed magnetic field therapy) I continue my education and professional development attending CPD courses and equine conferences. Soon my portfolio will also include equine kinesio-taping.

Sports Massage helps to maintain and increase performance, mobility, movement and stride length. I am fully qualified and insured and each of my sessions is 1.5 hours, which includes a full static and dynamic assessment of the horse, full massage, stretches and after care plan. I am extremely passionate about what I do ensure that each horse and owner gets the very best from me. I cover the Milton Keynes, Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire area.

I am a fully qualified and insured Equine Sports Massage Therapist with a wide range of clients from 10'2 to 18'1, from rehabilitating to hunting fit. Until a few years ago, I worked in lighting in the West End on shows including the world premiere of Harry Potter, Matilda, Cats and Wicked. After a very undramatic fall resulted in a fractured spine, I was unable to return and with a very clear understanding of how Sports Massage played a vital part in my recovery and my ongoing maintenance, I was inspired to retrain to be able to help horses in the same way. I am a (very happy to be) walking example of the benefits and am thrilled to be able to help horses in the same way. I am also a qualified Bit and Bridle Fitter which is helping me identify and solve many muscular issues and goes hand in hand with massage.

Horses have been a huge part of my life since I was 5 years old. In my younger years, I spent a lot of time showjumping at a local level, then moved on to affiliated jumping and dressage with my warmblood Basil. I always knew I wanted to work with horses, so after school I decided to study Equine Management at Bishop Burton College. After a few years of only being around my own horses, I decided I wanted to work with horses again, as it had always been my passion, and this is when I decided to look into Equine Massage Therapy. I am now a fully qualified Equine Sports Massage Therapist, and I aim to study Equine Physiotherapy in the near future also, to expand my knowledge. There is nothing more rewarding to me, thank knowing I can help improve a horses well-being.

A lifetime passion for horses and an interest in their response to energy, as well as their ability to heal us, led me to Equine Sports Massage Therapy. It is amazing to offer these incredible animals the attention and respect they deserve by sharing holistic healing therapy with them. I have been riding for 30 years and worked with horses throughout my youth. I now live in London and work in marketing, as well as working as an Equine Reiki Practitioner and now in Equine Therapy. My interests lay in combining holistic energy healing with massage. I studied under the College of Animal Physiotherapy. I can offer both massage and Reiki treatments for your horse and cover London and outskirts as well as Cardiff and the nearby area on occasions.

Alongside my manual skills, I have included this in my treatments, enabling me to treat many issues that may have previously been out of my reach. I have had results beyond veterinary expectations when treating tendon/ligament injuries (both acute and chronic), soft tissue, SI and other deep muscular issues, osteoarthritis and other DJDs and aiding post-operative/injury rehabilitation.

Starting my horse experience at 8, I have been around horses for most of my life. It started with my mum picking up an old pony for herself and was instantly hooked as a child. By 16 I had found my love for dressage and since then have had many project horses. Now owning a young Gypsy Vanner, and the biomechanics knowledge I’ve obtained from amazing professionals such as Centaur Biomechanics and Nicky Desailly, I focus solely on Classical dressage. In my career so far, I’ve had the pleasure of being an instructor at a riding school, a freelance trainer, a sole charge dressage groom and now a Veterinary Physiotherapist. I focused my degree solely around the equine field and practice as a BSc Veterinary Physiotherapist specialising in Equine and Biomechanics. In my spare time, I still teach and continue to attend CPD and other courses to further improve my knowledge.

Animals were always my passion from a very young age. After I left school I went to Plumpton Agricultural College to study small animal management, before heading to Canterbury Christ Church University to complete a degree in Animal Science. I grew up wanting to be a vet, but after working in a variety of settings with a variety of animals, both working and non working animals, I realized my interest was more so on the repair, rehabilitation and recovery side of things and therefore decided to pursue a career in Veterinary Physiotherapy. I worked with everything from cats and dogs, racing greyhounds, domestic pets, to riding school horses, rescue horses and sheep, before firmly finding my feet in the thoroughbred stud industry. I now work as a stud hand alongside my veterinary physiotherapy career. I have 3 of my own working dogs so spend my spare time fixing them and keeping them in tip top condition! I also have a great love for hunting and winter country sports.

Qualified canine massage therapist living and working in Lincolnshire. I studied canine anatomy and myotherapy [massage] techniques with the Galen Therapy Centre. I work with dogs suffering from muscle and joint injuries, and assist in the management of chronic muscle and joint disorders. These result in postural and loading issues caused by stiffness, lameness and repetitive strain that cause compensatory issues. My aim is to bring relief to the dog, return the muscles to a balanced state and improve the dog’s quality of life. I also work with canine athletes to assist in the prevention of injury, improve their performance and recovery times between rounds. I currently have five dogs [German Shorthaired Pointers] which I work and show, am also a Kennel Club Good Citizens examiner and a Show and HPR [Hunt Point Retrieve] Field Trial judge. In addition I can also offer movement assessments, lectures and demonstrations.

**Membership on hold for 2020**Muscle pain in dogs is often underestimated and sometimes difficult to diagnose and treat. I have specialised knowledge in this area and work in a targeted and specific way, through massage therapy, which often results in remarkable positive changes within the dog as a whole. Muscular issues can manifest themselves in many different ways. The pain can cause stress that will have a negative effect on how the dog functions both physically and emotionally. I can help with the treatment of dogs with postural and loading issues, damaged or injured muscle and allied soft tissue. The treatment is primarily intended for the long-term case that could have been a result of compensatory issues from a condition (i.e. osteoarthritis or hip dysplasia), past trauma or repetitive strain. I have an accredited diploma in Canine Myotherapy from the Galen Therapy Centre, and I am fully insured with public liability and professional indemnity insurance.

I began learning about massage and biomechanics in 2001 when my own showjumper showed intermittent lameness which the vets were having difficulty diagnosing. I was spending time caring for horses on box rest and became interested in where they enjoyed being groomed and touched, and how this related to their injuries. I attended two weekends with Mary Bromiley MBE and this sparked my passion for massage and biomechanics. I was working full time and the massage was my hobby. I attended various workshops and seminars over the years and then I completed my ITEC Diploma in Equine Sports Massage in 2015. Since 2015, I have focused on massaging competition horses, many of whom are jumping at high level and competing at FEI shows. My specialist areas are showjumpers and stallions.

I am a qualified Osteopath and have done further training so that I may treat animals too. I grew up with dogs and have always wanted to work with them. I have two adorable Clumber Spaniels that are worked and shown. Our older girl, Hettie, picked up an injury early in life and thinking of her future was what finally prompted me to do a postgraduate certificate in animal osteopathy. I see patients every day that have their lives enhanced by osteopathic treatment - whether it is to further their athletic capabilities or simply to walk without pain. Animals pick up injuries as we do and whereas many are pets, many others are worked or shown. Osteopathy can help animals that are worked to reach their full potential, pets to enjoy life fully and older animals to go through old age comfortably

Canine Massage Therapist Having received a lot of treatment over the years for my own back and for other niggles from sporting activities, I have experienced at first hand, the enormous benefits of remedial sports massage. Being the owner of two equally active dogs, I found myself wanting to help alleviate their muscular niggles too, so looked into whether I could train, in a formal way, as a canine massage therapist. The resultant radical career change is enormously satisfying and rewarding, as I have been able to make a real difference to dogs and their owners' daily lives. I cover the Bath, Wiltshire and South Gloucestershire areas, in liaison with many local vet practices.

I am Monika Papp and I treat dogs as a Galen Canine Myotherapist in the Horley area. I have always loved dogs from an early age. Growing up I was surrounded by several dogs usually adopted from unwanted litters. My favourite book was Man meets Dog by Konrad Lorenz which can be the reason why I love Japanese breeds like Akitas. During the years being a university student I did charity work in shelters. Even though dogs have always had a special place in my heart and in my life it took me a long time to find the perfect way to work with them as well. Fortunately I came across Galen Canine Myotherapy, went for one of their workshops and immediately after I enrolled to study on the Galen diploma course to become a practitioner. It is a great way to help these wonderful creatures to live their life to the fullest and the best quality possible. Areas Covered: Horley area ( approx. 25 mile radius)

Becky has had a passion for animals from a very young age. As a keen equestrian, she has ridden since she was a child. She knows how important it is to ensure that your horse is moving and working to the best of its ability, whether for competing or post-injury. Her passion for biology sparked an interest for her to seek a profession where she could combine her love of animals with a career and she retrained as a human Doctor of Chiropractic (DC), in which she now runs her business in Mid Sussex. Becky qualified as a human Sports Massage therapist in 2016 and then went on to qualify as a Certified Equine Sports Massage Therapist. She loves being able to combine her anatomical knowledge with her hands-on skills to offer treatment for horses and also utilises her skills as a Chiropractor to help advise riders as part of her treatment plan. Becky will be undertaking additional training in 2021 to encapsulate her Chiropractic and massage skills and transfer this to equines.

After graduating from Southampton University with a degree in BSc Zoology, I went on to train with The College of Animal Physiotherapy for 3 years, graduating with a Diploma in Animal Physiotherapy. Since qualifying, I've been building up a client base in and around Hertfordshire, whilst working at a local Equine Hydrotherapy Centre in Bayford. Over the past few years, I've been lucky enough to work with a variety of horses including top level racehorses, broodmares and foals. I absolutely love my job and get so much pleasure from seeing the horses respond so positively to treatment. Hearing feedback from my clients makes my day when they can feel and see their horses feeling more comfortable and improving.

Dogs are my passion. A nurse by background, I have been a complementary therapist since 1994 practising aromatherapy, reflexology, Reflexology Lymph Drainage, EMMETT Technique, ScarWork, hypnotherapy mainly. I started my training in the Emmett Technique in May 2016 and it made such a difference to me and my clients, that it was a natural step to train in Emmett4Dogs. Immediately I could see the benefits for my own pets and those I look after whenever fostering, pet-sitting or boarding Guide Dogs. The EMMETT Technique is a gentle and incredibly effective muscle-release therapy used to ease pain and discomfort, increase movement, performance, improve balance, wellbeing and quality of life. The technique is non-invasive and versatile, and so can complement and enhance other therapies and treatments. I believe much can be achieved with collaboration.

Animal osteopathy:After graduating, in 1988 from the European School of Osteopathy, Maidstone, Kent, UK, I have striven to build a truly multi disciplinary system of osteopathic medicine through my pioneering work in the veterinary field. From this association, I have derived incredible advances in my human patient work, especially with cases of partial, and near total paralysis. In 1998, I set up Zoo Ost Ltd following 10 years in practice. I was keen to bring both aspects of my work together under a single banner. A business providing treatment for both people and animals. 'Zoo Ost' is just that - Osteopathy for the wellbeing of all creatures. So far Zoo Ost Ltd has been able to help not just people of all ages, and from all walks of life, but also animals and birds from around the world. I have been privileged in treating some of the worlds rare, and endangered species as part of conservation, and rehabilitation programmes.

Equine Massage Therapist & Student Animal Physiotherapist I have had horses for most of my life and just love them. I’ve competed a little over the years, British Eventing and Show Jumping, constantly trying to improve my riding and fitness and improving the well-being of my horses, my main priority being their health and happiness. Equine massage is so rewarding, not only for its health benefit, but also the horses love it, with each horse responding so differently. It is great being able to give them something back for the work and loyalty they give to us. I enrolled as a student Animal Physiotherapist in November 2018 to further my knowledge and skill base in both equine and canine.

I have always had a love of animals and knew from a young age that I wanted to work with them which I have now been doing for over 20yrs. At 14yrs old I started volunteering at a local rescue centre and it was here that my love of working with animals really grew. I went on to study at Cambridge College of Agriculture and Horticulture/College of West Anglia going the First Diploma and National Diploma in Animal Care. I then retrained in Animal Physiotherapy as this was something that I had always had an interest in. I trained with The College of Animal Physiotherapy (TCAP). I am currently the joint manager of the rescue centre that I began my career with and run my own physiotherapy business alongside it. I am a fully qualified and insured physiotherapist and I cover Hertfordshire, Essex, Cambridge and North London.
